Do Piles Ever Go Away?

Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are the swollen veins around your anus or the lower rectum. Piles can be external or internal. External piles are outside of the anal opening while the internal piles are inside of the rectum. Piles can be itchy and painful and sometimes, they may also bleed during the bowel movements. Piles are very common and it affects most of the population.

What are the symptoms of piles?

It is very important to look for the symptoms of piles, so that you can consult the doctor accordingly for the piles treatment. You may have no noticeable symptoms from internal hemorrhoids. Sometimes, a bowel movement may irritate internal hemorrhoid and cause bleeding.

If the internal hemorrhoid is pushed outside of your anal opening, you may have bleeding during bowel movements and symptoms in the anal area that include:

  • Itching
  • Burning
  • Discomfort
  • Pain
  • a lump
  • swelling

These are the same symptoms you’ll experience if you have external hemorrhoids.

By noticing these symptoms, you will know about the piles and by depending upon the severity of the symptoms, the doctor will give you the best piles treatment.

How long do the symptoms of the piles last?

This is a tricky question to answer but usually, the piles and the symptoms of it clear away if they are small and may take few days. You may just need to make simple lifestyle and diet changes.

Some internal piles become so enlarged that they stick out of the anus. These are called prolapsed piles and they can take much longer to heal and also may require specialized treatment by the doctor.

Some women may develop piles during their pregnancy and this is because the increased pressure on the abdomen, in the third trimester, may make the veins in your rectum and anus larger. Pregnancy hormones may also make it more likely for your veins to swell. If you develop hemorrhoids during pregnancy, your symptoms may last until you give birth.

Do piles ever go away?

It seems the piles cure is just not possible, but piles disappear when all of their symptoms are treated. The symptoms can be caused by different factors and are quite easy to deal with. There aren’t a lot of things needed for them to go away forever.

If you have piles, you should know that this illness has nothing to do with constipation nor will having piles decrease your chances of getting constipated later on in life. Piles can occur at any age although they usually affect older adults because their sphincter muscles weaken with age. You should also keep in mind that it has been estimated that three out of ten people suffer from piles at some point during their lifetime!

For piles to come up, you might experience pain or itching, and the piles may feel pain when they are touched. They will also most likely be swollen and inflamed which is caused by piles’ proximity to the anus. If you notice piles coming up, make sure to put on loose pants that allow for easy access while healing piles naturally.

Will your hemorrhoids return?

Once you’ve had hemorrhoids, they can return. Researchers haven’t conducted many studies on the rate of recurrence. Researchers in one study in 2004 compared the rate of recurrence of hemorrhoids in 231 people. Some of the study participants received treatment at home, and others had surgery to remove their hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids recurred in 6.3 percent of the people who had surgery and in 25.4 percent of the people who received at-home treatment.

Tips for prevention

Changes in diet and your daily routine can help keep hemorrhoids from returning. Home treatments to relieve hemorrhoid symptoms can also prevent future flare-ups. Follow these tips:

  • Eat the recommended amount of high-fiber foods and drink plenty of fluids to keep your stools soft and prevent straining during bowel movements. You can also speak with your doctor about taking a stool softener.
  • Exercise regularly, which will help keep your bowel movements on a more regular schedule.
  • If you’re overweight, lose weight to reduce the pressure on the veins in your rectum and anus.

There are many options for the piles treatment. But, first, it is very important to consult the doctor before starting the piles treatment. Your doctor might be able to see the external piles but for the internal piles, they will include an examination of your anal canal and rectum.

  • Digital examination. Your doctor inserts a gloved, lubricated finger into your rectum. He or she feels for anything unusual, such as growths.
  • Visual inspection. Because internal hemorrhoids are often too soft to be felt during a rectal exam, your doctor might examine the lower portion of your colon and rectum with an anoscope, proctoscope or sigmoidoscope.
Your doctor might want to examine your entire colon using colonoscopy if:
  • Your signs and symptoms suggest you might have another digestive system disease
  • You have risk factors for colorectal cancer
  • You are middle-aged and haven’t had a recent colonoscopy

You can often relieve the mild pain, inflammation and swelling of piles with home treatments. With the home remedies, the symptoms often go away within a week but if you are suffering from major pain and discomfort that it is important to consult the doctor. Apart from the home remedies, there are also medications, minimally invasive procedures, external hemorrhoid thrombectomy, surgical procedures and homeopathy for the piles treatment. When you go with the conventional treatments, there are chances of having side effects but with the homeopathy, you have zero side effects for the piles treatment.

Homeopathy treatment for piles

Homeopathy is considered the best method for the piles treatment. All you need to do is just search for the best homeopathy clinic in your area for the piles treatment and then go for the consultation with the best homeopathy doctor, who will guide you the best. Homeopaths use substances found in nature that act as natural stimulants triggering self-healing mechanisms within the body. Homeopathy treats each person as an individual and is highly effective in treating both chronics as well as acute conditions. Homeopathy treatment allows the body to heal from within itself with absolutely no side effects or complications as it has no drug content. Homeopathy works on the basic principle of ‘like cure like’ which means that diseases can be treated by administering substances that would produce similar symptoms if given in overdose to a healthy individual. This is how homeopaths prepare their remedy, they select that substance or a substance group whose symptoms closely match with those of your condition. And then they dilute this substance in water (it is important not to confuse diluted solutions with distilled ones) but due to high energy vibrations inherent in water molecules, homeopathic remedies become activated and start to heal you from within. Homeopathic treatment for piles usually involves a series of homeopathic pills that are taken over a period of time. These pills are extremely safe to use and do not cause any side effects or interactions with other medications. Homeopathic treatment is similar in most cases for any disease or disorder, but some of these underlying conditions can take a long time to cure depending on their severity and the extent it has spread in your body. A homeopathy doctor will prescribe you remedies that are suitable for your condition along with some lifestyle changes like diet plan, exercise schedule, and dietary supplements sometimes. It is totally up to you how many sessions of remedy you need before getting back to good health. Homeopaths do not believe much in prescription drugs but may prescribe some analgesics according to need and give you an in-depth plan on how to address the pain.

What Causes Piles?

Piles may be caused by straining during bowel movement, constipation leading to long periods between motions, hormonal changes in women such as during pregnancy or menstruation, weight gain from eating junk food or more specifically certain foods like nuts which aggravate the condition. Stress can also trigger piles due to the stress hormone cortisol being released into the system triggering muscle tension. It has been observed that those who have had a history of piles in their family tend to develop the condition earlier than those who don’t.
