Different Types Of Piles And Treatment Options

Piles are the tiny protrusions that grow out of your rectum or anus skin. Over time, piles may increase in size, become more painful and bleed. Piles are swollen and inflamed piles of tissue that develop in the anus, rectum, or vagina. Piles affect most of the population, but most of them are shy to talk about this condition. This condition is nothing to be ashamed of, and you should talk about it or consult the doctor.

Piles are caused by straining when trying to pass a bowel motion which can lead to piles, this then makes the piles increasingly worse. Piles appear as bumps or lumps around the anal canal. These are often painful if they become large enough and may cause bleeding from the skin surface. Piles treatment consists of hospitalization for radical piles removal if they have worsened significantly and homeopathy remedies, medication, and self-help measures for piles that aren’t serious but will require long-term management.

When piles first develop, there may be some itching or irritation in the anal area. As piles progress and become more prominent, they can become quite painful to pass, and bleeding may occur when passing a stool. They are sometimes associated with constipation. The main components of piles are swollen veins that have ‘bulbous enlargements’ which are referred to as ‘hemorrhoids’. It is always recommended to treat the piles at the earliest so that not many issues are faced by the patient in the future.

Different types of piles

Piles are not always visible. But when they expand, they can look like red or discolored bumps or lumps. It is imperative to know the type of piles to understand what they are suffering from, and then they can contact the doctor for the piles treatment.

The four types of piles are:

  • Internal
  • External
  • Prolapsed
  • Thrombosed

Most of the piles are not that serious, but they are not that common. You need to see the doctor right away if your piles are causing you pain or disrupting your normal activities and bowel movements.

  • Internal hemorrhoids

Internal hemorrhoids are found in your rectum. They can’t always be seen because they’re too deep in your anus to be visible. Internal hemorrhoids aren’t ordinarily severe and tend to go away on their own. Sometimes internal hemorrhoids can swell and stick out of your anus. This is known as a prolapsed hemorrhoid.

There aren’t any nerves that detect pain in your rectum, so you may not always notice internal hemorrhoids. But they can cause symptoms if they grow larger, including:

  • pain or discomfort
  • itching
  • burning
  • noticeable lumps or swelling near your anus

Feces traveling through your rectum can also irritate internal hemorrhoids. This can cause bleeding that you may notice on your toilet tissue. See your doctor if internal hemorrhoid causes you a lot of pain or discomfort.

  • External hemorrhoids

External hemorrhoids occur on your anus, directly on the surface of where your bowel movements come out. They’re not always visible but are sometimes seen as lumps on the anal surface. External hemorrhoids aren’t usually a serious medical issue. But see your doctor if they cause pain or discomfort that interrupts your daily life. The symptoms of external hemorrhoids are essentially the same as those of internal ones. But since they’re located on the outside of your rectal area, you may feel more pain or discomfort when you sit down, do physical activities, or have a bowel movement. They’re also easier to see when they swell, and the bluish color of the dilated veins is visible beneath the anal skin surface. See your homeopathy doctor if external hemorrhoid causes you pain or discomfort.

  • Prolapsed hemorrhoids

A prolapsed hemorrhoid occurs when internal hemorrhoids swell and stick out of your anus. A doctor may assign a grade to a prolapsed hemorrhoid based on how far it sticks out:

Grade one: Not prolapsed at all.

Grade two: Prolapsed but will retract by themselves. These may only prolapse when you put pressure on your anal or rectal area, such as by straining when you have a bowel movement, and then return to their normal position afterward.

Grade three: Prolapsed, and you have to push it back in yourself. These may need to be treated so that they don’t become too painful or infected.

Grade four: Prolapsed, and you can’t push it back in without a lot of pain. These will usually need to be treated to prevent pain, discomfort, or further complications.

Prolapsed hemorrhoids look like swollen red lumps or bumps outside your anus. You may be able to see them if you use a mirror to examine this area. Prolapsed hemorrhoids may have no other symptom than protrusion, or they may cause pain or discomfort, itchiness, or burning.

In some cases, you may need surgical treatment to remove or correct a prolapsed hemorrhoid so that they don’t cause you any pain or complications.

  • Thrombosed hemorrhoid

A thrombosed hemorrhoid contains a blood clot (thrombosis) within the hemorrhoid tissue. They may appear as lumps or swelling around your anus.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids are essentially a complication of hemorrhoids, in which a blood clot forms.

  • Blood clots can happen in both internal and external hemorrhoids, and the symptoms may include
  • intense pain and itchiness
  • swelling and redness
  • bluish color around the area of the hemorrhoid

See your homeopathy doctor as soon as possible if you notice increasing pain, itchiness, or inflammation around your rectal and anal area. Thrombosed hemorrhoids need to be treated quickly to prevent complications from a lack of blood supply to your anal or rectal tissue.

These are the different types of piles that one should be aware of, along with the symptoms. So, if you notice the symptoms, then you should urgently seek piles treatment.

What causes piles?

Anything that puts pressure or strain on your rectum or anus can cause the veins to dilate. Some of the common causes for it includes –

  • not having regular bowel movements
  • being pregnant or giving birth
  • using too many laxatives
  • sitting for a long time
  • having diarrhea or constipation
  • being overweight
  • not eating enough fiber in your diet
  • straining while having a bowel movement
  • getting older

Treatment options for piles

One can often relieve the pain of piles by trying out some home remedies that will reduce the inflammation of the piles but then only if the symptoms are mild. Over-the-counter medications, surgical procedures, minimally invasive procedures are mostly recommended by the doctor if the piles have significant signs and the patient suffers from utter discomfort. There is also one of the best treatments available for piles, and that is homeopathy which most people prefer. Other treatment options have their side effects and can have a long-term impact on the patient, but the piles treatment in homeopathy is safe and effective.

Homeopathy treatment

Homeopathy treatment is available for all the different types of piles. An expert homeopathy doctor prescribes homeopathic remedies for piles based on the person’s constitutional type and the piles and piles-related symptoms. Since piles are associated with constipation, remedies that help with constipation will also benefit piles.

It is best not to wait until piles to worse as remedies will then work harder and take longer before they can help them with piles-related symptoms. A cure may not be possible if piles have already developed into an abscess (pus forming underneath piles) or hemorrhoids (thickened swollen piles) or gangrene (tissue that dies from lack of blood supply). The homeopathic remedy selection includes constitutional treatment with homeopathic remedies selected in consultation with a homeopathy doctor and specific remedies for piles and piles-related symptoms. The homeopathic remedy selection is based on how one appears when healthy (constitutional remedy) and aspects that are different in an illness or disease state (specific remedy). They have a deep effect at both levels – body level and mind level (emotions, feelings, and knowledge). Homeopathy works very slowly and gradually over time but it can take a few remedies at once.

Homeopathy for piles treatment is considered as best and safest treatment because the homeopathic remedies are derived from natural substances such as plants, animals, and minerals.

To get treated by the best homeopathy doctor, one needs to visit the best homeopathic clinic for piles treatment. The first thing that the homeopath will do is diagnose and analyze the issue to get to know its root cause. They prescribe the homeopathic medicines to the patient for piles treatment after evaluating the patient’s conditions, lifestyle needs, and medical history. Every other treatment plan is customized and then given to the patient to benefit from long-term relief from the piles disease. Homeopathy curative treatment for piles begins with a physical exam during which homeopaths look for signs of inflammation on the anal area; they also diagnose whether there are any existing health conditions in the patient that need to be addressed while prescribing homeopathic medications for piles.
